Kachua Upazilla


Kachua Upazilla

Kachua is an Upazila of Chandpur District in the Division of Chittagong, Bangladesh. It is located at 23.3500° and North 90.8917° East. Kachua Upazilla is bounded by Chitalmari on the north, Nazirpur and Pirojpur Sadar on the east, Bagerhat Sadar on the west and Morrelganj on the south. There is no significance source of naming of Kachua, yet two information is found. First, in Senitic language, “Kachwa (কাচওয়া)” means sub-town. Eventually, this word became “Kachua” over time. Second information is that, the word “Kachua” evolved from Urdu words “Kuch” and “Huwa”.
